This all ground floor cottage has a double bedroom with pull-out single, a twin bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen with a dining area and a sitting room with a woodburner. Outside there is off road parking for two cars and a private, lawned garden with furniture. With fishing nearby and the opportunity to take part in some art and photography classes, Orchard End is an ideal holiday base.

Shop 4.5 miles, pub 2.5 miles. Note: Due to the property being on a working farm, with a river running through the grounds (15 mins walk from cottage), ensure children are supervised at all times. Note: Guests must bring own fishing equipment and gain environment agency permit to fish. |

The market town of Launceston in Cornwall, England, is located just west of the river Tamar which divides Cornwall from Devon. Because of this the town has long been referred to as the 'Gateway to Cornwall' and indeed, at one time was the county's capital. The town is just a few miles away from Werrington, Lawhitton, Lezant and Lifton and is one of more than two hundred towns or villages in Cornwall in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available. The nearest cities are Plymouth (with a population 243,795 in 2001), Exeter and Truro (the present capital of Cornwall).
The town resides on the side of a large hill, with Newport, a small suburb, at the bottom of the hill beside the River Kensey. In the middle of the town is the castle which dates back to Norman times. Before the A30 bypass was built passing traffic used to feed through the town (making it a real bottleneck for traffic heading into Cornwall) but the bypass has now ably alleviated this problem. In bygone days Launceston was also served by train, but now the former railway line has been developed into a tourist attraction with a narrow gauge railway taking regular runs along the valley.
